What is a good strategy for First Person Blackjack?

Stand on 13 through 16 when the dealer shows a 2 through 6, and keep hitting to 17 against a 7 or higher. In First Person Blackjack the dealer has no choices and must keep drawing on a low hand, so let them be the one who goes over 21.

• It works because 16 of the 52 cards in a deck are worth ten (the 10s, jacks, queens and kings). A dealer showing 7 or higher usually finishes on 17 to 21, so a 14 or 16 that stands against them just loses slowly. Hitting at least gives the hand a chance.
• The one exception: with a 12, hit against a 2 or 3 but stand against a 4, 5 or 6. Dealers go over 21 less often from a 2 or 3, so a standing 12 wins too rarely there.
• Split a pair of aces or 8s every time: aces are two strong starts, and 8s turn one bad 16 into two live hands. Double on 11 unless the dealer shows an ace, and on 10 against a 9 or lower, because that is when you are the favorite.
• An ace counted as 11 is a free swing: the next card cannot push you over 21, because the ace can drop to 1. Hit soft 17 and below, stand from soft 19, and hit soft 18 into a 9, 10 or ace.
• Perfect Pairs and 21+3 are settled by the first cards dealt, so your decisions never touch them. Playing five hands just means five results per round.

Played this way, First Person Blackjack returns its full 99.21% RTP over time. Raising your stake after a loss does not change the next card. The plays above are the whole game. For a single-player table at your own pace, there is social casino blackjack.
