How to play Mahjong Ways 2

Lay out your tiles across a 5-reel mahjong table where the outer columns hold four rows and the three center columns rise to five. Your goal is to match tiles left to right across adjacent reels. When tiles match, they explode off the grid, fresh tiles cascade down, and a multiplier climbs from 1× to 2× to 3× to 5× with every new chain in the same spin. Land 3 scatters anywhere and 10 free spins begin with all tiles on the center three reels plated in gold. Each gold tile that helps a win pops away and leaves a wild behind for the next drop, while the multiplier ladder jumps to 2×, 4×, 6×, and 10×. Mahjong Ways 2 is a medium volatility, ways-to-win slot from PGSoft. Matching symbols pay across adjacent reels from the leftmost reel, regardless of vertical position. The game features a cascading mechanic where winning symbols explode and new tiles drop, increasing a win multiplier with each successive cascade. Landing 3 Scatter symbols triggers 10 free spins with an enhanced multiplier trail and more gold-plated tiles. Here is how you play.

Pick a stake and spin the 5-reel grid, which has a 4-5-5-5-4 row layout.
Watch for matching mahjong tile symbols on adjacent reels from the left.
Winning symbols explode, new tiles cascade down, and a multiplier increases from 1x to 5x for successive wins in the same spin.
Land 3 Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels to activate 10 free spins.
In free spins, the multiplier trail boosts to 2x, 4x, 6x, and 10x, and all tiles on the central three reels can appear gold-plated.
Gold-plated tiles that are part of a win transform into Wilds for the next cascade, potentially extending winning chains.

Key mechanics

Cascading Wins (Avalanche): Every win removes the winning tiles from the grid, and new tiles fall to fill empty spaces, potentially creating new wins from a single spin.
Multiplier Trail / Win Multiplier: A multiplier ladder above the reels starts at 1x on each new spin, increasing to 2x, 3x, and then 5x for successive cascades in the base game, and to 2x, 4x, 6x, and 10x in free spins.
Gold-Plated Symbols / Golden Symbols: Gold-framed mahjong tiles on reels 2-4 transform into Wild tiles after participating in a win, remaining on the grid for the next cascade.
Free Spins Feature: Landing 3 Scatter symbols triggers 10 free spins, where the multiplier trail is upgraded and all symbols on reels 2-4 can appear gold-plated.
Wild tile: This symbol substitutes for all regular paying symbols to complete or extend winning combinations.
Scatter symbol: This symbol triggers the free spins feature when enough are visible on the reels.

Bonus rounds

Free Spins Feature (3 Scatter symbols): Awards 10 free spins. The multiplier trail is upgraded to 2x, 4x, 6x, and 10x. All symbols on reels 2-4 can appear gold-plated, increasing wild transformations. It retriggers when additional scatters land during the feature.
